General booking terms, key information and cancellations are detailed as follows:
Reservations made via our website are non-refundable in the event of cancellation less than 24 hours prior to arrival or non-arrival. Advance purchase reservations are non-refundable and non-transferrable, as per the terms of booking.
Short breaks/special packages/stay and dine for two
Given four weeks notice we are happy to offer a refund minus a £15.00 administration fee or the opportunity to make one date change for your booking free of charge. Up to 14 days prior to your booking, we offer the opportunity to change the date of your booking incurring a £15.00 administration fee. In the event of a cancellation within 14 days, promotional breaks are non-refundable.
Restaurant meals, incidental charges, vouchers
All payments made for the above services are non-refundable.
Special events – weddings, private parties, Christmas
All deposits and pre-payments are non-refundable subject to the contractual terms and conditions agreed and confirmed when you made your reservation.
Special party rates accommodation
Pre-payments are non-refundable in the event of cancellation less than 24 hours prior to arrival or non-arrival.
Spa Days and Spa Stays

In the event of a cancellation within 14 days, spa days and stays are non-refundable.
Cancellations within 48 hours of your visit are charged at full price. Cancellations prior to 48 hours will incur a small administration fee to cover costs already incurred to Fairlawns.
No refunds of advance payments will be made in the event of any non-arrivals.
Damage and charges
We are a family run business who take a fair and transparent approach towards the way in which we deal with our customer. Whilst the company understands fair ‘wear and tear’ and takes a benevolent approach to accidental damage caused by our guests (we all make mistakes), we reserve the right to retain your credit card and/or debit card details and/or to charge you a fair rate for damage caused to our property and your allocated room(s). This damage relates to you, your guests or your pets.
We have a number of measures in place relating to Covid-19 regulations and these can vary at short notice. Please trust we will play our part and we ask that you do too. All guests are required to follow the latest government laws and respect fellow guests and our team. All guests and team must ensure they are healthy before visiting and wear a facemask when moving through all public areas. Please follow hygiene measures, physically distance and minimise contact/sharing where possible. Guests visiting the health club and spa will also be required to have their temperature taken in the interest of everyone's safety and relaxation.
We do not allow pets, of any kind, to stay in our bedrooms or enter our dining, bar or banqueting facilities. As you would expect, the only exceptions to this rule, surround service dogs who are permitted with prior discussion so an appropriate room allocation can be made.
Fairlawns Hotel LTD in its discretion will use charges and payments to compensate and make good the loss, damage, costs or expenses incurred or suffered as a result of any damage. We thank you for your acceptance, understanding and respect.
